Carlina trained in London in the 1970's , in Contemporary Design and Traditional Silver and Jewellery making techniques.
She established her practice, with the support of the Craft Council of Great Britain, then working in London’s Clerkenwell and Covent Garden; designing, making, exhibiting and selling her work. Work at this time included trophies, medals, commemorative pieces, cutlery, and silverware for organizations and individuals, birthday and anniversary gifts, gold and silver jewellery, wedding and engagement rings, ‘one off’ designs, and small production runs.
In 1994 Carlina moved with her family to Auckland, New Zealand.
The beautiful seaside suburb of Devonport provided home, workspace and galleries for the next decade. Gallery 3 Collective and Clarence Street Studios were showcases for new work inspired by the stunning New Zealand landscape and environment.
In 2004 Carlina moved to Grey Lynn. Since then she has completed personal projects at home and overseas, these include;
The Giant Leap (2004) : 12 groups of work, with each piece of jewellery being partnered with a larger art work.
Parallel Lives (2008) : with UK-born artist Vonney Ball; two artists with very similar backgrounds. This work came after a trip back to the UK and contained some commemorative pieces for Amanda Severne, a friend and artist who died that year.
Carlina Goffe Silversmith Gallery (2008-2010) : in Grey Lynn’s Great North Road, a Workshop and Gallery, showcasing Carlina’s and other local artist’s work. 8 exhibitions including a jewellery group show, 7 Women 7 stories.
From Here to There and Back Again (2012 and 2013) : a worldwide making project with work made in, and inspired by travels in 8 countries, culminating in an exhibition at Waiheke Art Gallery.
Carlina Goffe Handmade Jewellery (2013 / 2014 / 2015) : Christmas pop up shop at Crow Gallery, Grey Lynn. A range of Jewellery and precious objects.
In addition to these projects Carlina makes work to order, and has sold through many Galleries throughout New Zealand.
